No third party plugins installed. I've tried uninstalling it and removing all preferences before installing it again.

Launching from application folder and by opening a project fails.

I now tried uninstalling 14.2 and installing the previous version 14.1. This worked.

Then I uninstalled the 14.1 and reinstalled 14.2. This solved my problem - AE is now working.

What third-party plugins or scripts do you have installed?

Try launching AE from your applications folder.

Try launching AE by opening an existing project.

Do older versions of AE on your system still work?

Hi guys!

I had the same issue. And a simple trick helped.

1. Quit AE.

2. Go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library > Application Support > Adobe

then find Common folder and rename it ("Old Common" for example).

3. Go to Documents > Adobe and rename all After Effects CC folders ("Old After Effects CC" for example).

4. Restart AE.

It worked in my case.
