See my picture only as a blue square

As you can see on the picture below, I see the preview picture on the left side, but it will not be shown in the centre to be worked with. The problem is independent if I use a jpg, a dng or a cr2 (btw; cr2 can neither be imported nor is it shown in any preview picture in Lightroom).

I bought Lightroom yesterday (version 6). The camera is a Canon 1300D.

I have no idea what to do and am very thankful for any advice!

Have you tried disabling GPU acceleration? Let us know if that makes a difference.

Go to:

Edit >> Preferences >> Performance (tab)

Lightroom >> Preferences >> Performance (tab) on Mac OS

Uncheck the box “Use Graphics Processor”

Then click OK
