I recently moved my LR catalog to a new computer (photos are on external drive). The upper level folders are now displaying the cumulative number of items in the subfolders. I don't recall this being the case before, am I mis-remembering, or is this a new bahavior? In the Library module, if I click on an upper level folder I now see all photos contained in all subfolders in the grid display. I don't recall this being the case before I moved the catalog to the new computer. Before, I would have to click on the subfolder containing the photos I wanted to see to have them display in the grid. The actual photo files have not been replicated, it's just a behavior of the catalog, but I'm not sure if I like it.

There is a checkbox option "show photos in subfolders" which controls this behaviour.

You can access this in the Library menu (half way up) or else in the drop-down menu at the right side of the title of the Folders panel.

Thank you. I didn't see anything in Preferences, should have looked further.
