Hey! I've been having a problem for the last few days. When I click on the crop tool, the image blacks out/disappears, leaving me unable to use it. When I click close, the image reappears. Help anyone? Thanks

Again, you don't need to do that manually. Simply use the Preferences and remove the check mark to disable it:

Which version of LR?

If CC or 6, please try to deactivate the GPU acceleration: Adobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ

I'm using the most up to date version of LR. The graphics card info in system info looks fine. I don't understand %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs. ??

I have not asked you to reset the preferences. Check the settings for the GPU first, as linked.

If you need to reset the preferences (if above does not help) use this guide: Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6

As I said above, I do not understand:

  • Navigate to %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs.
  • Open the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs in TextEdit.
  • Change the line useAutoBahn = true to this line: useAutoBahn = false
