Lightroom playing up

I need help/advice please. I use lightroom, (paid) on a mac. Ill be editing a photo and it starts playing up, I'll be editing say highlights slider and temperature slider will go crazy doing what it wants... Or I can just be editing any slider and another slider starts doing what it wants. It is getting extremely frustrating! Can anyone help?

Which version of Lightroom exactly? Which operating system?

Its a mac, I don't know operating systems... But it should be the latest lighroom as I pay monthly for it...

Also is this on a notebook and you are using the Track/Touch Pad?

I think it might be a mouse problem as someone mentioned in this thread but I'm no sure how i can resolve it... It is very annoying and it doesn't do it ALL the time... But once it starts it doesn't stop!
