Hello! I was wondering how I would get this background on only the top half (stars) or bottom half (feet/trunk) of the elephant. I was also wondering if it was possible to put two different backgrounds on this transparent elephant. If it were possible, how would I put one background on the top half (stars) and one background on the bottom half (feet/trunk)? Thank you! I'm a beginner so the simplest way would be best!

You need to select the area in which you want to put that background. For that make a selection, copy the background and then paste into it (ctrl+shift+alt+v) or else make a clipping mask.
