I am using Adobe Acrobat. Everything was running fine until it recently stopped running for no real apparent reason. The error message occurs when i try to open .pdf format file:
An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who has created the PDF document to correct the problem.
Is there something I can do myself to fix pdf?
I am on Windows 8

If you've downloaded the file or saved it from e.g. an email, try to save/download again and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, there is nothing you can do. Get in touch with the author or distributor of the document and describe the error and request a copy that is not corrupt.

Although rarely e-mail clients and servers or FTP and web servers will corrupt a PDF file (usually in a misguided effort to “fix” line endings mistakenly believing that PDF files are in an ASCII format), most often this problem is due to improper creation or manipulation of the PDF file by other software. It may be necessary for whoever created the PDF file to fully recreate the file and/or fix the content being converted to PDF format.
