Lightroom 6 was working fine for over a year. All of a sudden, it will not let me import any image files either from the camera, SD Card

or from a File/Folder from my computer.

It does not show a preview of the tumbnails at all and the "Import" button does not light up.

So your screen capture does not show the Destination Panel on the right.

Point your mouse right in the middle of the words "File Handling" and right-click and select Destination. The destination panel will appear, make sure a valid destination folder is selected.

In the Import dialog box, is the Destination Panel on the right hand side preset and expanded and does it have a valid destination folder selected?

Well, your first screen capture had COPY selected, there shoudl be a Destination Panel and the method explained would make it appear.

The second screen capture had ADD selected and you won't see a Destination Panel until you click on Copy.

nothing happens after I select a file from the left. The Import light does not turn on.

I used to import also directly from a SD Card and the thumbnails started showing automatically.

I have tried several options, it just does not want to import at all!

BTW, THANK YOU!

If you're importing from the left panel, are you selecting a folder that has images? Also, you will probably want to use the "Add" option because presumably the images are already where you want them to be. Notice in the middle of the middle of the area that normally displays images you are being prompted to select a source. You're being prompted to choose a folder that contains images.

Jim and DJ, this is what I get!  I do have pictures in the folder and it shows me that there are no pictures.

I have also re-installed LR 6.3, restarted the computer several times, nothing! I also don't understand, that

it does not let me import from a SD Card. BTW the header of the screen shows usually COPY.

Thank you for trying to help!

Dear Jim and DJ!!

It works again! After 3 days.......

I think, it was the destination panel, something has changed.

Thank you both very much from Mexico (German/Canadian retired in MEX)
