Premiere Elements 12 won't start

My Premier elements 12 will not start. When you click on 'Video editor', New project all I get is the Stripe bar underneath running but nothing else happens and the program will not start.

I have tried reinstalling the program form the DVD but still get the same result.

Please help.

I'm with Bob. Version 12 had an especially bad conflict with nVidia graphics drivers.

Assuming you've got an nVidia graphics card, go to the nVidia site and ensure you have the latest drivers. This fixes it with most versions of the program -- though, as I've said, version 12 had a particularly tough conflict with the nVidia drivers.

I have this problem now (2021). I have installed the latest nVidia driver and it made no difference

There are always two "latest" Nvidia drivers.  One is for games and one is for 'studio' work.   If that doesn't work, try picking an older one from the Nvidia sight.

Just go down the list.

i had this problem too and i installed an older nvidia driver, and premiere elements 12 worked again, but windows 10 automatically updated it for me, i can't remember which one worked.

Use System Restore and check which driver worked.
