After effects wont start anymore.

No way.

I need work today!

There is no way to wait for a long update again.

I have spent 3 hours in reserching and have just 2 hours left till a deadline!

I need to finish and render and deliver a video to TV.

Can not start a programm!!!

AFTER EFFECTS IS NOT WORKING AFTER UPDATE!

Reinstalling didn't helped

Removing any "pref" files - didn't helped

Please, give a sign!

I did uninstall ...

I reinstalled an Update, because there wasn't another option to install AFX (?)

The same result. Crash.

I did uninstall it again.

I found somehow the way to install an old (14.0) version.

I did it.

I lost all my prefs, all my workspaces, all my presets ... eveything.

The same with Madia Encoder.

Even with no having my prefs - it is NOT WORKING CORRECTLY.

All footages are in wrong lenght. Even interpretation is correct

1-750 JPG sequence is showing length 750 frames in project window, importing to composition it transforms into 625. Fixing interpreting some kind of way fixes this, but after saving and reopening a file all errors are back in theyr places.

Everything is — down.

I really dont know, how to finish my project. This time im going to lose money indeed.

Thats all.

Time is over.

My client is calling me right now.

I can't finish that project, and just because of failty programm update.

Ok. This is somehow still an open question.

I did lost my job, i lost some money. First time in my working history i was not able to complete the work, just because a software error. Really. I lost about 700€ just because of a faulty update.

Now i have a little more time, to find out, what to do further, because problem still existing.

Here is a little more history:

1. I Updated AFX from Adobe CC console.

2. After Effects crushed after update.

3. I unistalled AFX

4. I couldnt find another way to install a fresh copy of AFX, just as update.

5. I did it - i updated something what i just even though i have not installed.

6. As we can imagine - it doesn't work any way.

7. I unistalled AFX for a second time.

8. Now somehow it was possible to install a fresh version of AFX

9. I choose to install a version 14.0

10. After instalation was complete, i realized, the software works with lots of errors.

a) All my settings, workspaces, presets etc. is gone.

b) some bugs in real usage what i find quickly (just because was out of time to test it more)

11. Thanks God - i have a Time Machine On - it is not an easy task, but i find all the presets and settings and just copied them back.

12. After some 5 or 6 computer restarts AFX and MediaEncoder works less or more ok with previous version of AFX and ME.

What to do now? How do you think. Do an update again? It takes just some 10 hours repairing work if anything goes wrong again...

As i undestand there is no any solution for that faulty update. Is it?

Some errors still appear, but i can work less or more productive. Its is far away my good working computer as it was before, but im really afraid to make that update again...

If you have time, you might consider uninstalling, running the Adobe CC Cleaner, and then reinstalling. That might make things work more smoothly overall.

Uninstalling and Adobe Cleaner will completelly wipe away all my presets, pereferences, workspaces and everything. Isn't? I can't find it usefull in any way. Since Adobe stores all those files in more than 10 places for every application, most of them hidden and never in some logic order, i can't see the way how to backup them all and restore after reinstalling everything completelly.

Is there anybody out, who have get trought this update succesfully?

Yes; me.

Running the cleaner tool will wipe away preferences and workspaces, yes. But then, you can't bring your custom workspaces into the 14.2 update anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that. Preferences can be pretty easily restored depending on what you've changed. Presets, scripts, etc. can be easily copied out of their respective folders (which are right next to each other. Now, it'll take a while to reinstall plugins, relicense scripts, etc. if you have a lot of third-party tools installed, but at least it might be working.

If you'd rather not mess with that, contact Adobe support.

At the moment i don't have this problem anymore - i decided not to update ...

I did complete unistall, reinstalled all the software, and realized nothing changes. My AfterFX doesn't start - crush at startup. Audition is not working also - New Mutisession file crushes Audition. Then i unistalled everything again and installed back a previous version.

So my conclusion is : Adobe latest updates are non working products - don't install them untill problem will be solved globally.
