Lightroom 4.x to 6.x upgrade

Hi

I have got a Lightroom 4.x Student edition.  I would like to upgrade to 6.x standard edition.  Please can anyone confirm if I buy the 6.x upgrade version will it work?

Lightroom 6 requires a 64 bit operating system.

And you need to have your Lightroom 4 serial number to qualify for the upgrade
