Importing CR2 to Lightroom

Hello,

I followed various other topics to import CR2 Canon images to Lightroom, and all topics end up by downloading Adobe DNG Converter. But the given page (Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 9.10 ) shows a download link that redirects to the global Adobe product page.

On this page, there is no way to find Adobe DNG Converter, so maybe this product no more exist. Or I am missing something?

I have a Creative Cloud subscription and all the programs are up-to-date (Lightroom 2015.10, Cameraw Raw 9.10).

Is there not any better way to handle CR2 than installing a third-party program? Cameraw Raw does not provide something for that?

The Camera is Canon ESO 1000D.

Thanks for your answers.

DNG Converter is usually unnecessary. All you need is the latest version of Lightroom, which you have. Also the EOS1000D is an old camera, so Lightroom 2015.10 should import photos from it.

Are you unable to import EOS1000D files? What is actually happening?

Actually I have an error message when importing, with the details of the

three images to be imported :

The files cannot be opened by Lightroom. (3)

Actually I do not see how to reply on the Web UI. When I click on the

"actions" link of the last comment, I see an AJAX loader but nothing

happens.

I didn't find a "reply" link anywhere on the page...

OK, I was connected to the main site but not on the forum, sorry...

Now I am also connected to the forum I can access the expected links.

Below are the screen captures.

First I use the "import" feature, the images are found.

Then I click on the "import" button, there is a progress bar and at the end I get the following message :

As far as I see in your screenshot you try to import directly from the camera. Have tried put the memory card into an card reader and then import in Lightroom? Another way is to copy the images to the internal hard drive and then import.

I would definitely try using Axel Matt's suggestion above.

If that doesn't work, then the unfortunate conclusion I have is that the files are corrupted somehow (and I hope I'm wrong!). The cause of file corruption is almost always hardware malfunction somewhere.
