OS - 10.11.6 El Capitan
After Effects 2017 14.0
If I create a new project > Import a new video and then add this to the timeline the application will crash when I try to play the video.
The error that i get is:
After Effects Alert
A copy of your project was saved at: /Users/-User/Documents/After Effects Crash.5.aep.
Last log message was: <123145348509696>
<prefetch> <5> RequestPrefetchedFrame frame not in async list!
If I use an existing project, this issue does not occur. Any ideas what could be causing this issue?
I have looked at the audio hardware, cleared the cache but to no avail.

Without info about the actual video file this is not much use, but this sounds like a decode or cache issue, so start by flushing your disk caches and make sure the file isn't damaged.

Hi Mylenium,
Any video used will have the same issue so not codec related. I have used PRO RES, H264 mov and mp4. I have deleted the cache and this has not helped. I have also used the same files on existing projects and they are fine and cause no issue.
Thanks

You might also considering updating to the latest version of AE. You're on 14.0 and the latest version is 14.1

Hi Szalam,
I was considering that as a last resort incase it is something else that can be done.
Thanks
