Camera Raw Filter on 32-bit images

It's a deal breaker.

I upgraded to 18.1 yesterday. And quickly found out that Camera Raw filter is not working on 32-bit images anymore. It's an integral part of the rendering pipeline we use every day. So I downgraded.

I read that it was disabled to prevent mismatches with ACR:

Command 'Camera Raw filter' not available in Merge to HDR Pro

My questions:

Will I ever be able to upgrade again? If so, when?

Or, could you add a checkbox in some settings menu to allow editing in 32-bit?

Thank you, but I'm not really sure that a feature request is the main focus of my post. I'm inquiring if Adobe has the intention to undo this change and the unintended effects it had on my workflow - which is separate from the issue they tried to fix.

This is a user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

What they are at liberty to divulge about Photoshop development decisions I am not sure, though.

Ok, sorry. I was misinformed by their incomprihensible support page.

Edit: So, Adobe support page gives you three options :

  • Search help pages.
  • Chat with someone who searches the same help pages.
  • Chat with other users.

Exasperating.

If the work-arounds presented on the page you linked to do not suffice for your needs then just post a Feature Request.
