Hi there!
I purchased a PC laptop today for work-related travel which is running Windows 10. I downloaded and installed Photoshop and Illustrator (both CC 2017) without any issues. Both open and run correctly. However, inDesign will not open... it crashes during the loading process and says "Adobe inDesign CC 2017 has stopped working". It gives no diagnosis of the error or reason for crashing. I thought that it may be the something to do with the processor speed, but the other programs are working fine.
I need inDesign up and running for a trip in the next few days and I can't seem to get anything to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mira

There are several things to try, firstly try resetting your InDesign preferences:
Close and relaunch InDesign, and IMMEDIATELY hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences. You must be extremely fast on the keyboard (if you don’t see the confirmation prompt, you were too slow).
You may need to do this a couple of times before getting the hang of it.

Thanks for the reply! I just gave this a shot (got the option box to pop up first try, amazing!) but it didn't work for me. I still get the same error during loading - "Adobe inDesign CC 2017 has stopped working."

OK
If it's still crashing try this: uninstall InDesign, using the drop-down in the Creative Cloud app (the cog icon), then run Adobe Cleaner before reinstalling InDesign : Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

I've been experiencing the InDesign 2017 crash too. After hours spent trying to troubleshoot last fall, I reverted to InDesign 2015. Everything was fine for a while.
Then a few weeks ago, the Creative Cloud app started failing. I went through the whole laborious process of trying to repair it (didn't work) and uninstall and reinstall it (also didn't work). I finally uninstalled all Adobe apps and used Adobe's Creative Cloud cleaner tool, then reinstalled the Creative Cloud app and my other apps. While I was at it, I decided to try ID 2017 again
After the hours that took, ID 2017 worked fine for about three hours. Now it's crashing on launch again. I don't seem to get the hang of the Ctrl-Alt-Shift: it isn't offering me the option to replace preferences, but is instead asking if I want to start recovery.
Before it crashes, the file it opens to shows all the pink "can't find this font" highlighting, even though the file was fine and ID could find the fonts just a half hour ago.
I don't think running the whole process of uninstalling and reinstalling yet again is the answer. ID has something systemic that is causing it to crash like this. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I am also waiting for a solution, I am using ID 2017 - or was, because now it crashes every time on startup when loading shortcuts (infotext during load).
I have uninstalled, cleaned up with the Cleaning Tool, removed all thinkeable folders. Tried the ID 2015 which worked - hmm.
Installed the ID 2017 in the hope that it would Work - but no.
As we speak a technician is looking into my InDesign dump file. Hope to get back with som usable info.

Did you get indesign working? I have the same issue and it will only start from the Start/Programs menu if I choose to run as a Admin or from the CC desktop App.
