I cannot open a password protected document - the error says "Bad Encrypt Dictionary". What does that mean and can I fix it?

I cannot open a password protected document because it of a "Bad Encrypt Document".  What does that mean and can I fix this?

There is a possibility the file could be very old. What happens if you open the file in Google chrome?

If you have Adobe Acrobat, try opening the file and choose File> Save As > optimised. And Let us know if that helps
