scriptui edittext ctrl enter on Windows

I find in trying to cause a line change in entering text into Scriptui-edittext  (Photoshop) that ctrl-enter does not work.  Nothing else I've tried works either.  Scriptui actually executes the OK button instead.

Help please.

It works only with own User Interference windows and not in CC 2018 but in CS6 EXTENDED. After I press 'Ctrl j' while I'm in a cell it clears its content, but doesn't replace by any text that I udnerstaood it should. Can someone please explain it more?

Thanks a lot.  Works like a charm on PC within edittext box.  Does not show as line change in Alert display of text in JSX.

Does CMD/J work likewise on the MAC?

Do I have to convert output string somehow?

Thanks.

On MAC, maybe someone will test for us.

Something with using CTRL-J is that text within Edittext is formatted with line breaks, the text (string) from an Alert is not.   BUT if I pass the text (string) onward so it is print in HTML it doesn't show breaks but if I enclose it in <pre></pre> in HTML it works fine.  I don't understand this but it works.

I noticed this change also with some recent update to PS. With my UI's rather than ctrl-enter, just enter works.

Neither Enter nor CTRL-Enter work with Edittext.
