Hi there
I've had this annoying floating box in the top right hand corner of my InDesign for the last couple of days now and it is driving me NUTS
Please can anyone tell me what it is/how to get rid
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
This is a known issue with CC 2017.0.
instead of what you are seeing, ideally you should see something like this
Since you do not see the "Close" option, clicking at that position in that right corner (highlighted in red above) too would make the "floating window" go, if you haven't already clean preferences to solve the problem.
Do let us know if it goes this way

This doesn't look like it is 'in' InDesign... it looks like it is on top of your application... have you tried closing out of all applications and then reopening?
Is this the only document that you are seeing this in?

What version are you using, and what operating system?
Have you tried trashing preferences?

OSX Yosemite
And the Latest Adobe CC - just updated it all last week.

Do you have any plugins? Is there any particular reason that you haven't updated to the current OS - Sierra?

A box similar to that was appearing on Macs after an upgrade (although it was in the top right corner), but would disappear after closing and reopening InDesign. You said you did that? So did you try removing the preferences?

That's an empty Adobe Stock or Adobe Publish Online box.
Can't really tell from the image. In the empty search box, hit the magnifying glass and see what happens. That'll launch the Adobe Stock search. If not, try to publish an empty document to Publish Online.

Now that you mention it, Bob, the Publish Online button is MIA, and that is where the empty box is. Susan, to try Bob's suggestion, the other way to access it is File > Publish Online.

Doing the preferences has sorted it, thanks so much!

Great news! It's something to remember when InDesign (or Photoshop or Illustrator) suddenly start misbehaving.
