GPU / OpenGL is grayed out in Photoshop CC 2017

I've been Googling all morning and still haven't found a solution, so I appreciate any help.

I'm on a 2016 Macbook Pro running fully updated Sierra OS with Radeon Pro 450 2048 MB and Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB graphics cards. Photoshop is fully updated as well. Everything has been restarted. However, I'm unable to use Photoshop's 3D functions because I'm unable to turn on the OpenGL option under the Preferences/Performance menu.

Thanks for reaching out and providing all the details required.

As per the system info, I can see you have multiple display monitors connected and that could be conflicting with your primary/secondary graphics cards. Take a look at step 7 linked in this article Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues and troubleshoot accordingly.

I wasn't able to follow the directions in Step 7 for disabling the additional graphics card since I am on a Mac and the instructions were for Windows. However, knowing that my monitors were the problem enabled me to simply unplug them, at which point the option became live and I was able to use the 3D features in Photoshop. Thank you for providing me with a workaround.

For anyone that gets this issue after the 19.1.1 release, this worked for me:

Preferences>Performance and then make sure the 'Use Graphics Processor' box in the Graphics Processor Settings is checked. My Rotate View Tool suddenly wouldn't work after an update, so I just tried that out and it fixed it.
