After Effects 2017 (latest) won't run anymore on my system. It does show up in the task manager but nothing else shows up on screen.
When lucky after a restart AE will run 1 time. but when close the app, it will not run again. Also after a system restart there is no guarantee it will run again.
I tried:
running as administrator
running in compatibility mode
I am running Windows 10 creators update
Latest nvidia driver
Latest AE version
Are there some pref folders I can delete to reset AE?

uninstalling AE and Media Encoder 2017.2 and the re-installing and still not working.
I did install AE CC2014 and that one is running fine.
Does anybody know another option to have CC 2017.2 working again?

Trashing your preferences is a good first step (and often the trick) if AE won't start up.
Give this a shot. (This is from a few versions ago, but info should still be current.)

Hi Kyle,
i'll git it a shot. For now I found a strange work-a-round:
Start AE CC2140Then minimize this and then I am able to start AE2017
Very strange :-S

If trashing the preferences doesn't make it work consistently, it might be a good idea to file a bug report.

Hi MennovD,
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling from the Creative Cloud application? Let us know if that works.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, (sorry I mean Kevin) 😉
yes I did uninstall AE2017 and ME 2017 and reinstalled them.. But still AE 2017 didn't run.
My fix for now is first startup AE2014 and while open start 2017..
Can't check other options right now because I finally am able to render out a project I made earlier in CC2017.
Might take a few more hours 😉

Hi MennovD,
Ever get this solved? That was one weird workaround.
Thanks,
Kevin
