Hi

Currently I have a laptop that just barely runs premiere pro, it can edit videos however I have to wait quite a long time for it to show in the preview screen. I also have some lag.

So my first question is, this summer I will probably be getting a new laptop, but I don't have a very large budget so I was wondering, what is the most budget computer, it can be a desktop or laptop, that I can buy that will run premiere pro well enough that everything functions properly and without lag?

and until I get this new computer, is there anything I can do to make my premiere run faster on my current laptop?

Thanks!

What are you editing?

The requirements for 4k video are MUCH greater than regular Hi Def

In general...

Fast i7 with multi-threading capability'

16 Gig ram as a minimum

256Gig SSD for Windows and programs

2nd drive for video and work files

NVidia graphics adapter with minimum 1Gig video ram

I think you may have to spend nearly double that.
