Word cannot see the files I have saved with Photoshop

I have always saved my designs with Photoshop and then inserted them as needed into my Word documents with no issues. Today, whether I save it as a .png or .jpg, Microsoft Word nor File Explorer can see them. When I try to re-save them again (in case I made a mistake), Photoshop says they already exist. I have restarted my computer, but it still does the same thing. Photoshop can see them, but no one else can. What has happened?

Nobody can tell you anything without exact system info or other technical details like version of PS or where you are actually saving them with what options.

Sorry to you all that I did not give enough information, this is the first time I have ever asked a question here. I am using Window 10 and Photoshop CC. I am creating a small design in Photoshop CC that I will insert into my Word Document. The file names are very simple (cross stitch.png, heart.png, hexagon.jpg). I save it to my file as a .png or a .jpg. and it saves fine. In Word, I open my file to insert the picture into my document, and it is not there. All the other ones I have done hundreds of times are there, but not the ones I just did. I do “Insert Picture” from Word and they are not in my file. Nor can I see them in File Explorer, Adobe Illustrator, or any other program I have. I must have clicked something somewhere that is causing these files to only be viewed in Photoshop CC.

Can you see the path where they are supposed to be when you open or save them in Photoshop?

Have you tried Windows Search?

Are they on an internal or external drive?

When you click on "insert picture" in Word, what have you got in the file types at the bottom right of the Insert picture dialogue?

Are you sure you are saving to the same folder from Photoshop as you are trying insert from in Word? You can have more than one folder called Pictures on your PC each with a different path to it.

Thank you for taking your time to help...Yes I can see the path where they are suppose to be in Photoshop. On a Windows search they are not found. They are being saved to my computer hard drive.  I am accessing the same folder from Word that I saved them to in Photoshop. I have been writing for years, entering my pictures into my documents with no problems. I have never, ever had this issue where Photoshop saves them and I cannot access them with any other software. I am totally baffled. I reinstalled Photoshop and that did not help.
