Interface font is too small to read

On my new computer the interface font for Lightroom is too small to read. I have read that this is a common problem, and the solution is to download Lightroom 5. But this comes at a price. Isn't there something that can be done to make Lightroom 4.4 work on the newer higher resolution screens? Thanks.

You can downgrade the resolution of your display using the OS or upgrade to Lr6 as Lr5 is no longer available.  There is no fix for Lr4
