Hi! I just recently noticed that when I move a cropped photo onto a new canvas (like putting two 3x4 photos onto a 6x4 canvas) that the color desaturates. Why is it doing this? I'm pretty sure that I didn't have this problem before. I use Photoshop CC for just the basics so I'm feeling totally lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Possibly a like a colour management issue. Wider gamut source such as Adobe RGB being placed into an sRGB file without colour conversion.

If you have your Colour Settings, Colour Management Policies set as following:

col-man-pol.png

Then you should see a warning such as:

mismatch.png

You can “reset all warning dialogs” on the main General Preferences window.

Could you please set the Status Bar to »Document Profile« and post a screenshot taken at View > 100% and with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?
