LiveCycle ES4 to AEM Migration

Hi All, we are planning to migrate from LC ES4 to AEM. So as of now in ES4 we have all our XDP files in a LAN repository location and being picked dynamically using configXML by the LC processes.

But as a plan of migration clients are willing to get rid of the LAN location and rather have all the XDP uploaded to AEM workbench, hence we will have a copy of the same XDP in CRX which can be used for further adaptive form development.

So we are making changes to our processes to pick up the assets from workbench path rather than LAN location.

So I have two questions,

Does this approach make sense? is this a proper migration process?

Also could you please help me if you are aware of any other migration steps that will help.

Hi, Do you know why they originally stored them remotely on their lan?

When they were going from es3 to ES4 when they uploaded so many forms on workbench they saw caching issue it seems. But now since they are going for AEM which will be on cloud so they want to get rid of the LAN and get everything to AEM which will serve dual purpose. Hence please help me on the correct migration strategy.

How many xdp are we talking about and what are the environment parameters?

It's around 500 to 1000 odd forms. Could you please help with a proper migration strategy. Configurations mainly include variables pointing to LAN locations to pick up the required resources. Thanks

I assume that you mean importing XDP via an LCA by 'uploaded to Workbench'. In case you bring XDP via LCA on AEM forms on JEE installation, the XDP automatically gets replicated into the crx-repository. All such XDPs will start showing up under '/content/dam/formsanddocuments'. AFAIT this is a correct approch.
