Develop module image doesn't update with edits...unless I use a brush

Has anyone experienced this?

I edit a photo (anything except brush adjustments) and the picture stays the same. If I move to the next image then back to the one I was editing then the changes become visible. However, if I edit an image and nothing happens, then I add a brush edit, everything appears.

This has become such a problem that I now add a brush edit to every image just so that I can start to edit an image properly.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

You may try and reset the Lightroom preferences back to default and check if that helps, refer: Preference file and other file locations | Lightroom CC and 6

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using Windows 10

The version of Lightroom is CC 2015.10.1

I don't have GPU acceleration on and I don't have smart previews in develop module on.

I've also cleared my cache.

Cheers,
