Font artifact in Photoshop handwritten font

I purchased a new font and there is an issue when the letters touch each other, I can see where they overlap.  The overlap area turns white.  It happens with almost all the letters when I add a decorative beginning via the Glyph panel.  Originally, this was only showing up when I saved it as a PDF, but now it is showing up in Photoshop.  Per the suggestion of the maker of the font, I uninstalled and re-installed and restarted the computer.  I'm using CC, Macbook pro sierra 10.12.4

Please help!  I have client orders for this font and cannot fulfill them.
