When I try to select text to edit it it crates a new text box on top of the previous one instead of letting me edit the existing text.

Hi AWeil,

Are you on Mac or Win? And what tool do you have selected? If you're using the select tool, you can double click into the text box to select the test. If you're using the Text (T) tool, you should be able to just click into the existing text box. If you click too far out, it will create another text box for you.

Hi,

I am on a Mac (laptop) and use an external mouse.

I select the text with the text tool. But unless I am very careful and only

after several attempts do I manage to not create a new text box but rather

the existing text.

I am selecting the text right in the middle of the text box. Certainly not

too far out.

Thanks for that info, Alexandra. If your mouse is particularly sensitive, could you possibly be dragging slightly to create a tiny text box instead of purely clicking on the text?
