I'm new to Flash and I really wanted to export a little animation I made, but everything I do to export my video is not working!
-Can't export to QuickTime, my version doesn't support it, even at Flash Player 5
-Compressed AVI crashes for some reason
-Uncompressed is too long and is "corrupted", of which I can't encode it because my grace period for the Encoder is over
-SWF to MP4 just makes audio, terrible audio at that
I have NO IDEA what to do! Any way of making a video that isn't SWF doesn't work at all!
Please help me!

your os is not compatible with mx 2004.
you might be able to reinstall using compatibility mode (win xp), but even that's likely to fail, too because other needed components will be missing.

I have turned on Windows XP compatibility and ya still nothing. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Do you know any good SWF to MP4 exporters, then?
I've tried a few and they stink.

i would google that.
but why don't you use adobe animate cc?

It costs monies.
I know a way to make it be free but it's by changing the code and that sounds illegal.

you can be sure circumventing adobe's licensing agreement is illegal.

Yeah. Still, do you know any other free, safe programs to use?

what are you trying to create?

Literally a 5 second clip from Animaniacs that took me, like, 3 weeks to make. I'm a newbie, though.

what format is the file you created and what format do you want to produce?

Sorry it took so long to get back!
I have a SWF file.
I want to upload to YouTube, any type of YouTube video
If you can fand something that works, I'd totally give you a shoutout! Even if nobody cares for ir.

you need the fla that created the swf. you can then use animate cc to export your video. only animation on the main timeline and nested graphic symbols will be in the video.

I do got the FLA! Alas, my trial for CC ran out months ago!

then purchase a one month subscription, if that's all you need.

Well, I was hoping to create a series. I guess maybe I could just get a subscription to adobe. Can't be too expensive.

Yes. OpenToonz. Releases · opentoonz/opentoonz · GitHub
Open source, free, powerful, proven in feature-length animation production.
And it is WAY better than those old illegal versions of Flash that young animators seem to be using lately.

Hey dude!
Did you solve your problem? I'm amazed to know that there's still people using Macromedia Flash MX 2004!!!!! 😮
I'm going to revive my old personal project in MX 2004 (https://actraiserproject.wordpress.com/), I'm on Windows 10 64bit too and I have an idea. Respond my message if you're still interested.
Best regards

Well anyway, it may be of help for somebody with the same issue.
The deal is to install Windows XP on a Virtual Machine, that is, download Windows XP Mode from Microsoft and Virtual Box (I recommend VMWare Player), all free, BUT, Windows XP will run for only a 30-day period unless you have a spare XP license, otherwise you'll have to reinstall. I leave a step-by-step tutorial:
Download Windows XP for Free and Legally, Straight From Microsoft
I hope this helps.

I've had this problem too. Instead of exporting it, I instead, used a screen capture software (i used OBS) and recorded a playback of the animation i made.
