My apologies if this has been discussed in another forum, I may not know the proper search terms to find it.

This distortion/stretching issue something that's been happening to images on every INDD document I work on whether it's originated by me or not.

Images looked stretched and incredibly distorted. The way I fix this is to resize the image and hit undo. That restores it to its original appearance.

This happens regardless of the file format, PSD, JPG, TIFF...

This happens whether the images are resized or not.

The top image is the distortion/stretching, the bottom image is how it's supposed to look.

It isn't a massive problem, just irritating.

If there's a simple fix I would be much appreciative.

It seemed to have started recently, I have CC so I'm constantly using the most recent version of all adobe products.

I'm using InDesign CC 2017.1 release. 12.1.0.56 build on a MacBookPro Yosemite 10.10.5

Hi,

Try turning OFF GPU acceleration from the preferences.

The above shown in red will be "ON" if you have a compatible GPU. Turn it off by un-checking the checkbox.
