If I'm looking at several images and I move one to close to another, it merges into one image. How to stop this automatic function?

I work with multiple images on the screen.  If one image gets too close to another, the 2 images automatically merges into one.  Where do I disable this function?

... the 2 images automatically merges into one. ...

I'm not sure if I understand your question properly.

Uncheck this option in Edit > Preferences.

If it doesn't help: show a screenshot where the problem is visible.

Thank you!!! Your answer fixed the problem. I would be happy to click “correct”, but didn’t see the option on the page. See attached screen shot.

It is hard to understand the issue from your description. However, reading it a couple of times, you could be describing "Snap" . Uncheck View -Snap and see if that resolves your issue.

If not a before and after screenshot would help us understand better.
