HI,

Trying to export a video at 1920x5400 which works when I add to render Queue and export as MOV/animation.

But I want the export to be MP4/265 and the file is export as 1920x4352 ?

But exporting a 5760x3240 file seems to be fine, not sure if it's anything to do with the ratios ?

Cheers - Dan

resolution limitations of H265

you can bypass the format limitations by encoding in Handbrake which is a free open source encoder. you can go H265 and also H264 in this case. you would have to create a lossless format from Ae and drag that one to handbrake. use a preset that works for you and you are done. alternatively, you can export to this resolution and format using AfterCodecs - aescripts + aeplugins - aescripts.com straight from after effects in H264.

One problem am getting now is this error:

[14:14:33] ffmpeg_read: pkt too big: 50506982 bytes

Am guessing that the files are too big with them being 23 GB and 36GB.

Is there a way of exporting as compressed quicktime from AE ?

Cheers - Dan

where is this error coming from?

how much duration is this file?

what are your render settings?

try QT Animation or Jpeg2000.

there shouldn't be a problem with any file size using handbrake. generally speaking, if file size is an issue, you can try Quicktime PNG but it will take much longer to render. 23GB or even 100GB or more is not that big for uncompressed highres video files.
