Hi, I am having this awful issue couple of months. I named unfortunately one catalog with ending three dots fastly...

After that Lightroom crashes and informs that: Assertion Failed!

What can I do to get my Lightroom working again? This is definitely some bug or something.

What can I do? The Uninstall and install did not work.

Regards, Kari

Yes, the three dots was a very bad idea. Any dots at all. Using any other special character used by the file system is bad, too.

Have you tried renaming the catalog back to what it was before?

If you do a forum search for "assertion failed", there are plenty of matches, most of them point to this document:

"Assertion failed" update error in Lightroom | Windows

Thanks Per!

I tried that first without success. Deleted the catalog, but even renaiming gain no success.

But, i did managed to reinstall the program without the previous remembered assets, so that's was the only thing.

I believe, that there is issue when naming the catalog end with tree dots...

I am not naming anymore the catalog end with three dots (...) .
