Having a hard time drag and drop elements between layers 2017.1

With InDesign CC2017, I used to select objet on my dartboard, and then drag the little blue square in the Layers panels on another layer. Since I updated to 2017.1, I can successfully achieve the same process 1 on 4 times.

It’s achievable, but you have to be super precised. A UI fix to allow for a bigger target zone would be welcome!

I see what you mean. Here's an alternative:

Drag the name of the object to move it from one layer to another instead of the square dot. Watch for the gray line to indicate where you will be dropping off.

Good tips, thanks!

I still submitted a bug report; that doesn’t seams like a step in the good direction in my opinion.

Then reset your preferences. Use the second technique outlined here (deleting the files manually):

Hi Jolin,

As suggested by BarbBinder in her post, please drag the row itself rather than the colored box.

It should resolve your issue with smaller hit area.

Thanks

Can we still agree that it is a stupid up to have to use a workaround on something that used to work great.

This drove me so nuts I went back to the previous version. Very annoyed right now at this stupid change and how much I have to pay for it.

Indeed !  when you spend 8 hours a days using indesign, trying to click on this subborn layers panel, you end up with wrist tendonitis !

I thought it was due to my mouse and I bought a new one, I wasted my money !

new release of indesign are supposed to bring improvements !!!
