I have recently updated CS6 Photoshop Extended with current updates so I can import into Photoshop from my camera which is compatable with photoshop. The message I am getting is Canera Raw Cannot open this file. If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera make sure you habe the ;atest camera raw updates installed via help > updates.
If the problem persists, check out the following link for more information http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407111.html
Update have been installed unable to transfer as photoshop can not open in RAW files.
Any ideas?
Well, is it a RAW file or a plain tiff?
As
• you have decided to use an obsolete version of Photoshop and
• Sony has decided to release another RAW file format
you can use the free DNG Converter.

Good day!
You omitted to mention the Camera model.
If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.
Please see for yourself which version of Camera Raw supports a camera and which version of Photoshop is compatible with that ACR version:

Using the free DNG Converter would be an alternative.
