After Effects CC 2017 instant crash when locking screen/screensaver comes on.

Title says it all again.

It doesn't matter If I'm rendering, if I have a project open or just blank AE. I get this constantly with no exceptions. Whenever I lock my screen or it automatically locks the screen or the screensaver comes on After Effects crashes instantly. Can't know for sure if it's instant since I literally have the screensaver or lock screen on.

I'm using Windows 10, up to date and no other After Effects versions are installed on my PC which is a fresh install not older than 2 months at the time of writing this message.

I remember there being a crashing issue with locking being fixed in a recent update. It may have been the 14.2 update...

Ok, i assumed the CC just updates them automatically for some no good reason, I've just updated AFX to whatever version the CC app gives, will report back if that fixed it, thanks.

Alright so I've updated AFX to 14.2

The good news is that it doesn't instantly crash when going to lock screen or screensaver.


Bad news is that now it crashes randomly... with no option to save what I was working on. Not exactly sure what to do next.

Couple of weeks later -- Issue persists. Just as constant.

Even with the latest version it just instantly crashes No way to save/autosave
