Spritesheet: Sometimes you see it, sometimes you don't?

What would prevent it from showing? It used to earlier in the development of this interactive. Now it doesn't.

View file via HTTP in Firefox and Chrome: It's not there:

Open local file in Firefox browser: Oh look, now its there:

Open file locally in Chrome, none of it shows up, but errors do:

The sprite is a jpg, only 590kb at 4096 pixels squared.

Live link: Ride Control

Any ideas what the issue could be?

Thanks!

I'm guessing the Firefox and Chrome issue is caused by you loading your scripts from an https domain, but your content from an http domain. Modern browsers tend to not like mixed security levels in the same document. Try unchecking Hosted Libraries in your publish settings.

As for Chrome, it has issues with being excessively strict when running from the local filesystem.

Also, using the word "interactive" as a noun can't be helping things.

If AnimateCC has "Hosted Libraries" checked by default, then what is produced by default is a mix of https and http right out of the box, shouldn't Adobe be aware of the mixed security issues with modern browsers?

In this order: I republished, then cleared the browser cache, yet the sprite sheet was still reluctant to appear - only after refreshing the page 3 or 4 time did it finally appear, shouldn't it have shown up on first refresh after the cache was cleared?

Is there a way to order asset loading in AnCC?

Interactive is short for interactive graphic presentation, what else would you call a motion graphic that is interactive but is not quite an app?

Thanks!

When you do a Test Movie Animate places random numbers everywhere to avoid caching issues. When you do the final publish the random numbers are not included. So, if you always test using a full publish, and the file locations are all the same, there could be caching issues if you have made changes.

I don't think the hosted libraries part should affect caching. If you don't use hosted libraries do the spritesheets always appear?

BTW, if a Test Movie does always show the spritesheets ok you would have the option of using the test movie files, and don't do a final publish.

Inconsistent behavior like that is usually a sign of a network problem.

Also, have you tried disabling spritesheets in your publish settings?
