Do Pdf files save layers?

If I share a pdf file (from my illustrator draw ipad app) to someone with illustrator on a desktop, will the pdf file have layers that they can edit? or just the psd file?

I know how to share a pdf download link on creative cloud but I dont have illustrator to test this myself. Sorry if its a dumb question! 😕

Yes. Saving as a PDF will preserve layers.
