I am unable to create an animated gif because the options I get from the timeline's menu as seen in the screenshot are far from those listed in the tutorial. Why is this and how should i go about it ?

Try dragging an image into the Timeline then, hopefully, it should become active.

At the bottom of the Photoshop workspace you can click on this icon to toggle to and from Timeline and Frames:

Derek's last post showed you how to convert a video timeline into a frame animation which is what you want.

However, if doing this a gain and creating from scratch - when you first open the timeline you get a choice between "Create Video Timeline" and "Create Frame Animation" :

Can someone please help me? I'm experiencing the same issue - same menu problems... Photoshop CC 2015.5 (just updated)

and I have tried dragging an image to the timeline and nothing happens.  It's extremely frustrating... I too cannot click on the 3 dots...

Thank you...PhotoshopSS.jpg

No need to drag an image. - Just click that button that says "create frame animation" in the centre of the timeline.

Hi, Dave

I experience the same problem, but neither dragging an image on the timeline nor clicking the button 'create frame animation' solve the problem, all the icon are grey.

I try with Photoshop 2020 and 2021.

What would you suggest?

Thanks

Giovanna
