blue ring flashes, menus not working after ID CC2017 installation

Updated from a healthy InDesign CC 2016 into InDesign CC 2017 via the CC desktop window. CC2017 starts up, but blue circle next to mouse cursor flashes constantly, cannot use dropdown menus. Win10, updates up to date. Cannot work. Thanks a lot. For solving this.

Hi N2014,

1) Close all Adobe applications and confirm from task manager if all the applications and processes related to Adobe are closed.

2) Click notification area and check if there is any application like webcom, if yes please right click and exit.

3) Open programs and features from control panel and uninstall webcom adware from lavasoft.

4) Relaunch Indesign and check.

Lost my temper with the preferences-solution.

Temporary workaround: open an indd-file (either from the miniature picture or directely from the file), then clicking cursor onto a page and typing random text > flashing circle gone and everything working OK (until the next time).

Finally: @ohmath, 1 and 2 not helpful, but 3) found lavasoft and uninstalled it, although not sure if that's healthy for the computer. At least InDesignCC2017 stopped showing me the flashing blue circle.
