Is there a way to modify existing paragraphs from "East Asian" to "Middle Eastern and South Asian Layout" via JavaScript?

We get a lot of documents that come to us with East Asian layout. We have to change each text box to "middle eastern and south Asian layout". I would like to be able to script that using JavaScript, but can't find anything in the scripting guide that refers to this. Any help would be appreciated.
