Hi!

I'm working on a project where we want to turn our anual reports, regional plans and political documents into digital, interactive publications. I've been looking into using the Publish Online feature in InDesign, but I can't really figure out if I have the option of using liquid layout to make the publication responsive. Has anyone tried this? Is it possible?

If not, can i use Muse to make the documents as a responsive muli page "document" and just integrate it to our existing website?

Think of Publish Online as a FXL ePub (i.e. not reflowable) with the opportunity for readers to print out a PDF version. You can produce a responsive website with Muse.

Does that mean that there is no way to make a publish online document responsive, even by using liquid layout?

No. The only way would be to create (say) three separate editions, one for computers, one for tablets and one for smart phones. You could use liquid layout to help produce them but that's all!

By the way, the Publish Online documents are hosted on Adobes servers, not yours (though you can have a link to the documents on your website), and they can't be password protected or charged for.

The good news is that Publish Online documents can be read with any device with a browser, unlike many formats that need an app installed on the user's device.
