Captivate is running from one machine and I'm using remote desktop to showcase various windows on a different Vista machine. This article mentions some tweaks to the display you can make to reduce file size. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/captivate/articles/filesize_02.html Where do you change the display:

a)on the VM only?
b)only on the hosting computer (which runs Captivate)?
c)on both the host computer and the VM machine?

Thanks.

Change all system settings on the VM - that's all the window colours and
appearance settings etc. This sets all the colours you are capturing to the
most simple.

You could also set the VM software settings to 16-bit or even 8-bit. There's
no need for you to change the screen settings of the machine running
Captivate.

For the record, in my VM I didn't have the ability to modify my settings. They are based upon my current monitor/video config on my main machine.

Things look fine though.
