I just got new custom build workstation and trying to move my workflow
The problem is that every other step Lightroom and Photoshop applications are crushing -- switching from Library to Developer tab in LR,
Saving file in PS - crushes LR, Working with Nik filters in PS - crushes PS.. and that's just a start.
Everything worked fine on same files/catalogs on old hardware.
I tested setup under Windows 7 and Windows 10 with the same results, so pretty sure it is hardware issue..
Question is -- is there a way to figure out which hardware give me problem?
TIA
First two troubleshooting steps:
- Try unchecking the option Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor.
- Also, if you have an AMD / ATI graphics chipset, see: Lightroom: Crashing with GPU acceleration on (AMD Radeon driver 17.4.4) | Photoshop Family Customer Community

Thank you
did both of the steps you mentioned and it seems to resolve the problem
I guess the next step is to get different video card

Your graphics card may be sufficient, at least for LR. Unless you have a large 4K or 5K display, enabling the graphics processor usually yields little performance benefit (and sometimes slows things down). Also, an Adobe employee has said in that bug-report thread that AMD was supposed to fix the driver bug in their next release.
Which card do you currently have?

I actually have large 4K display and unchecking everything makes LR running (drawing tabs and refreshing images on screen) pretty slow for me. is there are a date for next driver release?
Thank you

All we know is that Simon Chen, Adobe Principal Computer Scientist, said last week, "The latest word is that AMD is going to push out a fix in their next driver update."
Which graphics card do you have?
Depending on the card, you've got a couple of workarounds, as described in the previously linked bug report: Lightroom: Crashing with GPU acceleration on (AMD Radeon driver 17.4.4) | Photoshop Family Customer ...
- Change some advanced settings in the AMD Settings utility.
- Roll back to the previous version of the AMD driver (17.4.3): Crash Camera Raw or Lightroom

The RX480 was released last year, and the RX580 is a slightly modified version of that. According to this Adobe Help page, the card should be compatible with LR: Adobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ
You could try rolling back to driver 17.4.3, which has worked for many people.

should be... that's why we picked it.
I just rolled back the driver to 17.4.3.... and got LR crashing again

Sigh, I guess you'll have to wait for the next AMD driver release.
