Hello,

I've recently subscribed to the Cloud edition. I am using InDesign ME to work on an arabic project I had started on an older InDesign version.

Other than the fact that the software is incredibly slow and almost impossible to work with at this pace, I am getting a big black shape over the work that appears and disappears when I zoom in and out.

I please need help with this

What operating system? If it's Sierra, make sure you're at 10.12.5.

If you are then turn off GPU acceleration in your InDesign preferences.

Regarding slow InDesign behaviour, it could be related to Arabic fonts. One thing used to slow down Arabic InDesign earlier was Font Preview, test yours by turning off Font Preview in System Preferences.

Can you tell us what is the font you're using?
