Is photo upload to cloud automatic

Just wondering if my photos that I import into lightroom or wherever are automatically uploaded to CC, or do I have to select them manually and do it every day?

Moving to Photoshop Lightroom​

From Lightroom Desktop they only go into the 'Lightroom Cloud' (not your Creative Cloud) when you add them to a Collection and Sync to Lightroom Mobile (for which you have to turn on in the preferences).

This will only upload Smart Previews not Full Res.
