I need advice on the workflow for large documents. For the first time I am working on my book that has chapters. I am writing it as well doing all the layout and graphics.

I have made my folder structure like this for the linked files in the windows explorer.

Illustrator files

      Chapter 1,

      Chapter2,

      Chapter 3

Photoshop files and jpegs

      Chapter 1,

      Chapter2,

      Chapter 3

I don't know whether this right or wrong way of organizing files when working on long documents containing multiple chapters having source file in different format.

But should I have gone like this?

Chapter 1

     Illustrator Files

     Photoshop Files

Chapter 2

     Illustrator Files

     Photoshop Files

Chapter 3

     Illustrator Files

     Photoshop Files

Thanks for replying. It would be more helpful if you share your experiences of your folder structure. That would make me see whether I'm going wrong or right.

Hi Arjun,

I personally would prefer the first structure that you shared. I do believe you will get more inputs from our experts in forum.
