Light Room problem

Hi I have a Light Room problem with drag & dropping new photos into it

In fact It won't allow me to import anything at all ( a bit useless to me )

What happens if you click the import button at the bottom of the Library grid? Can you expand the destination panel on the right and choose a folder or dated sub-folders to copy into. The file proposed file path should be shown at the top.

What happens exactly when you try? What is the exact word-for-word error message?

What version NUMBER of Lightroom do you have installed? (Go to Help->System Info)

What is your operating system NUMBER?

Please answer ALL of the above questions.
