I use a VBA Makro (AdobePDFMakerForOffice.PDFMaker) to generate PDF/A from Word - I want to secure the files so that text and pictures could not be copies - this seems to be not supported with PDF/A ?

It has nothing to do with PDF/A. You can achieve it by applying a security policy that prevents content extraction.

Just be aware this is a far from 100% secure solution. Many applications don't respect and enforce the security policies, unfortunately.

my problem is that Adobe PDF Maker does not allow for security settings, if a PDF/A format is selected

I tried to set the options in my makro but the Object for the SecurtySettings is Nothing.

It seems the two things are not compatible with each other, after all. The file can either be saved as PDF/A or be encrypted, but not both.
