Got new computer and copied my photo files, but now I don't have my collections or presets in LR

Got new computer and installed LR6 stand alone which I bought outright.  I then copied my photo files to LR instead of LR catalogue.  Now I don't have my collections or presets in LR.  Have tried to download LR cat. from hard drive but it does not download another catalogue so it is obviously the same cat. except it does not have the presets and collections.  What do I do, HELP PLEASE.

Please explain what you mean when you said that you tried to download the other catalog. You can import from another catalog. You can open another catalog. But I don't understand the terminology of download another catalog. What did you do?

I have just worked it out.  I had my catalogue on my external hard drive and you cannot load onto LR from external hard drive as I got a message telling me so.  Now I have copied catalogue onto my new computers hard drive and all is okay.
